Consumer Warning DON'T BE ANOTHER VICTIM. "A good deal from a company you know and trust is better than a seemingly great deal from a company you have never heard of." The internet forums are full of devastated customers who have bought their camera from shonky dealers simply because they advertised an amazingly low price. *** Typically the scenario goes like this. *** The price is sooo much lower than everybody else so the unsuspecting person orders from a company they have never heard of. At this stage the person is pretty smug thinking they got a rediculously low price. They then get the follow-up call from the super pushy, aggressive salesman, trying to sell them unwanted extras at hugely inflated prices. Some are taken in and pay 10-20 times the real value of the card, battery, tripods etc. Some are told that the battery that comes with the camera only lasts 15mins so they must upgrade. (Says a lot about the quality of the camera.) Most people obviously refuse and then comes the real whammy. If they don't upgrade they are then abused, told that the camera is no longer in stock and that their order is cancelled. The other scenario I have read many tales about is that if the person IS supplied with a camera, it is a grey-market camera with no US warranty, (or just some worthless in-store warranty). This is even though they were told otherwise. Some people are even shipped cameras where not only the instructions but the actual camera menu itself is only in an asian language. Other people report waiting incredible lengths of time for delivery after being told they were in stock. Typically everytime someone rings to complain about the service the staff just hang up on them. And the tales of woe go on. I have spent hours reading all the scam tales on the Internet from people who have fallen for the "cheapest" option. Do you know which of these unknown companies are scam artists? How could you tell? Don't go by their customer reviews because they aren't real. People don't notice this until they try and post a bad review. But there is a way. Don't get me wrong.
